With only 4-ingredients, these super easy savory carrots are incredibly tasty and definitely a must have on your Thanksgiving dinner table!
Thanksgiving is right around the corner you guys. Well, I’m sure you already know. But how did the end of the year come by so damn fast!?! Nevertheless, I’m sure you all have been dreaming of turkeys, creamy mashed potatoes, sweet/salty ham, the perfect pumpkin pie- oh wait, maybe that’s just me! I always love Thanksgiving because it gives me an excuse to make so much food and basically have leftovers for days.
I’ve been gathering some ideas for this year’s Thanksgiving menu. I always like to make something new each year for Thanksgiving. Whether it be a new pie recipe or a new side dish; I like to challenge myself to bring something new to the table. We all have our staples; turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, sweet potatoes, etc.
But friends, I sure do hope you whip up these easy savory carrots as a side dish. Your family and friends will be going for seconds. Do you have a hard time getting your kids to eat their carrots? Serve them these easy savory carrots and watch them gobble them down in a heartbeat.
As much as I’d love to take full credit for these tasty carrots, I can’t. A few years ago, my family had Thanksgiving dinner at my brother’s home. My sister-in-law, Vicci, made these absolutely amazing carrots and I remember going back for more and more. She shared her secret with me and I was blown away at how simple they were to make. She also learned this recipe from her own mother.
These easy savory carrots can be made in under a few minutes but taste like you’ve been simmering them all day long. The bouillon cubes release their flavors and soak into the carrots and send them over the edge.
These easy savory carrots are:
- Incredibly easy

- Super simple
- 6 large carrot sticks
- 1 cup water
- ⅓ cup onion, chopped
- 2 bouillon cubes (I used chicken flavored, but for vegetarian/vegan dietary needs you can use vegetable flavored cubes).
- In a medium-size sauce pan, bring one cup of water to a boil on medium heat.
- Slice carrots into nickel-sized pieces.
- Add carrots, chopped onions, and bouillon cubes to sauce pan and let simmer for 10-15 minutes on low heat. Gently stir.
- Serve warm and enjoy with your favorite entrée.
