With this Caramelized Onion Dip recipe, you’ve got a scratch-made onion dip that is full of deep flavor and super easy to make. It starts with perfect, deeply caramelized onions as the star of the recipe. Then we’ll blend the rich onions with simple ingredients like cream cheese, sour cream, and spices to round out the dip. It’s so clutch for parties, game day grub, and general entertaining alike!
Ingredients
- 1 (8-ounce) block full-fat cream cheese, room temperature
- 14 ounces (about 1 ¼ cups) sour cream
- 1 cup caramelized onions (<< click for recipe), room temperature
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Kosher salt & fresh ground black pepper- to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh chopped chives
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the cream cheese and sour cream. Stir the mixture until well combined and smooth.
- Then add the room temperature caramelized onions, worcestershire sauce, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, salt/pepper- to taste, and chopped chives. Stir well until the mixture is evenly combined.
- Serve the caramelized onion dip immediately. We love serving this dip with thick/sturdy potato chips and/or an assortment of veggies, crudité style (celery/carrot, bell pepper slices, radish, etc.). Enjoy!
- Keep leftover dip stored inside an airtight container in the refrigerator; it will keep for 4-5 days.
