Ingredients You’ll Need Here:

(Note: the full ingredients list, including measurements, is provided in the recipe card directly below.)

  • Smoked salmon: Any plain (unseasoned/flavored) smoked salmon.
  • Celery + shallot: Adds a crunchy element and more flavor.
  • Mayo, sour cream & mustard: This trio packs a punch with flavor, acts as a binder to bring everything together and adds a light creaminess.
  • Capers: These little salty buds are a delight!
  • Fresh herbs: An herbaceous note of chopped chives, dill, and tarragon brings so much freshness to this smoked salmon dip recipe.
  • Lemon: I love the little pop of zing that lemon adds to this recipe.
  • Seasoning: Garlic powder and salt/pepper help to round out the flavor…and yes, even dips need to be seasoned as well!

How To Make This Seafood Dip:

(Note: please see the recipe card directly below for the complete written instructions.)

  1. In a large bowl, combine the smoked salmon, diced celery + shallot, mayonnaise, sour cream, dijon mustard, capers, fresh chopped chives, dill, and tarragon along with the lemon zest + lemon juice, garlic powder and salt/pepper- to taste. Use a fork to break up the salmon and stir the mixture well to thoroughly combine.
  2. Transfer the smoked salmon dip into an airtight container and then keep stored in the refrigerator to marinate for at least 30 minutes. This gives the smoked salmon dip a little time for the flavors to settle and meld.
  3. Serve this smoked salmon dip with whatever your heart desires! 👅

What To Serve With Your Smoked Salmon Dip:

We love serving this smoked salmon dip with crackers, pita chips, pretzel chips, and veggies (sliced cucumber, bell peppers, etc.). Place the salmon dip in a bowl and set it on a platter, and then surround the platter with literally any type of vessel that you/your crew would love to scoop into this smoked salmon beauty!

Leftovers & Storing:

Place any leftover smoked salmon dip inside of an airtight container and keep stored in the fridge. Psst, I’m a big fan of deli containers for nearly everything! Because this recipe is fish + mayonnaise-based, it needs to be kept in the refrigerator/chilled at all times for proper food safety. It will keep in the fridge for 3-4 days.

Pairings & Other Ways To Serve:

  • Put it on toast! Spread the smoked salmon mixture onto a thick slice of sourdough to be served up open-faced style…sooo freakin’ good! 🙌🏾
  • Traditional sandwich– Make it into a sandwich with lettuce and tomato and/or other sandwich fixins, plain and simple, yuh.
  • Assemble a wrap– Just as the above but put together using tortillas.
  • Enjoy with salad– Gather your fav greens and make a salad with it!
